Präsident

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Dieter Orzessek (subject Agriculture/Soil Science) was re-elected as President of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences for the period from 01.09.2007 to 31.08.2011. This is his second term as President. Previously, from 1996 onwards, he was Vice Chancellor of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

The President represents the interests of the university both internally (self-administration bodies, departments, central units, authorised representatives) and externally vis-à-vis authorities, agencies, businesses and trade associations. As chairman, he heads the Senate and the Committee for Planning and Finance, holds the chair of the Presidium and supervises the university staff. His duties also include authorising the examination regulations. Working together with the Deans, he ensures that the teaching and examination duties are properly executed.
