Monument Conservation

This demanding degree course is jointly offered by the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Dessau and the Martin Luther University in Halle/Wittenberg. The Institute for European Art History and Archaeology and the faculty of Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation offer a broad range of qualification possibilities. In this workshop-oriented degree course, lectures and practical projects are supplemented by excursions. The programme comprises all monument-related aspects of art history, archaeology and architecture. Graduates are familiar with the particularities of these buildings. They learn the connections between excavated building findings and existing building structures. Their ability to safely handle the historical fabric of a building is a valuable additional academic qualification which is all too often lacking. The course thus offers graduates highly interesting professional opportunities.
