Bachelor Courses Department Applied Biosciences and Process Engineering

Process Engineering

How do modern aircraft wings behave under conditions of extreme cold? How does varnish remain capable of flowing without dripping? These are just two practical questions that are put to process engineers. Engineering Science specifically changes the properties of (raw) materials through physical, chemical and biological processes. It deals with the research, development and manufacture of usable products such as plastics, fuels, cosmetics or colorants – and subjects such as energy conversion and environmental protection. At the core of this are the latest findings in engineering and natural science – always considered in an ecological, business, and safety-related context. If you can plan, control and monitor processes, develop and operate plants and equipment, you will have excellent opportunities with this degree. Well-trained process engineers are always being sought after in the areas of industrial, environmental and recycling engineering, the energy industry, industrial and commercial production.
