Dual Courses of Study Department Computer Science

Software Localisation (dual)

If the user doesn’t notice that their software comes from another country, this could well be thanks to one of our graduates. Software localisation is the adaption of software or websites to the linguistic and cultural particularities of the different user countries. Localisation experts translate computer programme menus and interfaces. They develop online support which can be understood as well as better user manuals. The shapes and colours of graphic elements are also adjusted to suit the visual customs of the target markets. The Software Localisation degree course which is so far unique in Germany is closely linked with training in language translation and computer science. At the end of the successfully completed degree, graduates will have a broad qualification which will directly lead them to the modern translation and localisation market.
