Dual courses of study Department Architecture, Facility Management and Geoinformation

Geoinformatics (dual)

This innovative degree course links computer science and geoscience. Geoscientists develop concepts, programmes and software systems, always dealing with the capturing, analysis and visualisation of ‘space-related data’. The most important tool is geoinformation systems (GIS). The versatile IT specialists use modern information systems, database systems, image processing and remote sensing. This special course is partly conducted directly with the practice partner, allowing the theory to be directly incorporated into practice – and vice-versa. Practical application questions from companies or authorities are dealt with at an early stage. In addition to IT competence in the area of databases and programming, methods of 3D visualisation, computer graphics and presentation are also taught. The wide-reaching integration with the practice partner offers ideal conditions for a direct transition into professional life.
